Dear Bernie,
I wanted to thank you for the great job you did in your presentation on binge drinking, a subject that affects the lives of countless high school and college students every year.
When I originally booked you, I was fascinated with the concept of combining humor with the topic of binge drinking. I wondered how the routine would go, how would statistics be revealed, and how could this be funny. I was so pleasantly surprised. The humorous part of your presentation was top quality humor, non-offensive and appealing to a wide range of individual. It takes a lot to make me laugh out loud but you accomplished that from the beginning.
During your more serious segment, you brought out little known facts that, I know, the students really listened to and absorbed. Your message was non-blaming and non-accusatory and the students really related to that. Not preaching at them, caused them to listen to your personal story that much more intensely. I admire you and am proud of you for the ability and desire to share such a tragic story with the express interest of helping others. Your message does not go unheeded.
Thank you again for your efforts. It was my pleasure to meet you and listen to your story.
Sincerely,
Kat Stevens, M.S.
(Fairmont)
