    Bernie,

Thanks for coming to SDSU. Tonight was a great night for my girlfriend and I! I am the one who bought a $240 pair of shoes before. I come from a family of heavy drinkers in Denver,CO and I soon become one after high school when I found my own apartment. When I had my own apartment I drank and smoked weed with my buddies every night. I went through a lot changing my life to not drinking as much any more and no longer smoking weed when I moved to this miserable place. As a member of the Sigma Phi Delta fraternity ( Engineering Fraternity ) I still do not drink much. My X-girlfriend got me to quit drinking every night and go back to school. We didn’t work out, but I made a decision to stay away from the negative influences and continue to better my life. It was very special to me, the ” hard ass construction worker “, to hear your message in a comical way. My current girlfriend, of whom is 2 years younger, didn’t go out as much in high school and I was always worried when she goes out with her friends that the same thing will happen to her. But the look in her eyes and on her face during the serious part of your message I think she understood more of what I have been trying to get across about my own past. Don’t get me wrong she is a great girl with a lot of ambition but I think after your show she gained a lot more understanding in why I don’t get plowed as much anymore, maby once a month at most. I admire what what you are doing across the country and I know you are making a difference. If you are ever in Denver look up a comedian named Sam Tallent. He is a great friend of mine on the Denver improv team and I think the two of you would make a great show. Once again thank you for coming to SDSU!!

    Peace,
    Chris White

    Hi Bernie,
I thought that your show was amazing. I loved your story about your brother it just made me think about all the people in the world like that. I met a lot of people like your brother; my mom used to work in a place like that and would bring them to our house for a day just to show them what it was like to live around farm animals. They were so amazed. They are amazing people that they are truely a gift from God.
The whole women stealing the bed is TRUE. Your show was amazing keep doing what you are doing you bring laughter into the world.

Have an amazing rest of your tour and a great flight.

    Hey Bernie,
You suck and if you come back to Brookings, we’ll kill you!
Just kidding. Last night was a great time for me. Thank’s for heading all the way out here. I was the ’89 New Yorker guy, and believe me, you’re right about that car.
But anyways, thank’s for the positive message man. Like Chris, my family was pretty heavy drinkers back in the day. Luckily, they sobered up. Not so lucky was the fact that I went the opposite way of them. Granted, I never got drunk, but it was a risky gamble for me, seeing as how alcoholism runs in our family. But, fortunately, the people I hang out with at college have provided a good atmosphere for me, and I haven’t really drank since senior year.
Your pot story about the folding chair brought back a funny memory from my weed days, if albeit a stupid one. It was two in the morning at a friend’s house, and I was trying to put together one of those swifters. I’m sure you can see where this is going, so I’ll let your imagination do it’s thing.
But really man, you brought up a good point last night. Every time I’ve been to a drinking talk, it’s some guy who really doesn’t know the effects of alcohol telling us how it’s the devil’s brew, and how we’ll end up dead if we even just have one sip. It’s so hypocritical to me. It was awesome seeing a guy like you talk, who’s actually had experiences with drinking. Not only that, you gave us a great time while delivering your message! It was an awesome experience. You’re living proof that morbid lectures don’t have nearly as much impact as personal experience and humor.
Once again man, thank’s for coming out here to do this. It was an awesome time.

    God bless,
    Sean Begley
