    Dear Bernie,

I wanted to thank you for coming to MVCC to enlighten and inspire us students with your comedy show that was not only asking for laughs but to really give a wake up call to those who may be heading on the wrong path. I believe that from watching this stand up performance, students recieved the message that I know you truly wanted them to recieve, because I believe your experiences in life has the power to really effect someone as to make the right decisions. There was a lesson to be taught, and Bernie, I believe you teach well. I hope to see another show from you in the future! Continue your road of inspiration!

P.S.- I am proud to say as editor of the student newspaper: THE VOICE, I will be writing and including an article on you and your performance to further capture students eyes on the issues you have discussed with alcoholism, and it will be published in our next article!

Well once again you killed me with your humor. I wanted to let you know that I heard a lot of great comments about your act. You really opened the eyes of many students to think twice of their drinking habits. Everyone just loved you and I’m glad we had such a great turnout. Thanks once again for helping us get out the message of alcohol abuse in a way none of us could ever do. As many have said before….You Rock Man!!

    Dear Bernie,

First of all I’d like to say Thank You very much for visiting our college. I was not expecting such a performance from you, or in that case from anyone who comes there. Not only was it a great laugh for the day and to hopefully remember, but what will really take the minds of those who listened was your inspiring experience. I truly hope that what you said hit the minds of the audience that day because you know, it’s to those people who say that those events can never happen to them, that do happen to be a tragic event. We haven’t had so many incidences on our campus’ but it could happen and people do drink and live the life of a party on campus so anything is possible! From your message I have also taken a piece of becoming a better older sibling. Not many people encourage that, that my parents do and to here it from another source fills the bowl. I have 5 younger siblings all of them which of course I love and cherish deeply and would do anything for, and from your experience I’ve taken into account to cherish the moments I have with them, and no matter where I am if they are in need of me I will be there for them! So thank You once again. Your message is reaching the minds of your listeners, and I hope that your journey continues to be a far reaching one.

    With respect,

    Monique Swarthout

P.S.- I am the one in the first photo at MVCC with the ponytail while your signing a paper. Just to put it out there for you!
