Bernie,
What a great show!!! You had me cracking up, in a good way! I figured id put my facebook website on here because of the joke you made about it, hilarious. Your an inspiration to all of us here at Pope AFB. Im only 19, and I don’t drink, and I think when I turn 21 Im going to make the right decision, and think about the speech you gave us at the 1400hr show on Monday March 24th. Even if I don’t win the book in the raffle, I will probably go buy it. I love comedy, when I feel stressed or seem to be having a bad day, I always turn to comedy or anything that makes me laugh, and today you made it a better day. Immediately after the show I called my buddies back home and told them that they need to start watching your show, and buy the book. I kind of know a little what you went through. When I was 14 I became a Volunteer Firefighter for my community back near Pittsburgh, Pa. I remember going on a lot of Motor Vehicle Accidents where alcohol was involved. Two accidents come to mind. One where kids were drinking the night before and raced to school, went off the road hit a ditch, and ejected the passenger through the windshield, and died instantly at the age of 18. The second was after a party on a friday night after a high school football game, 3 Seniors in High school got in a car started driving and speeding down the road and maybe only 2 miles from the site of the party, they had a head on collision with another vehicle, the 3 students were killed and the driver of the other vehicle was seriously injured. It’s sad what alcohol has done to some amazing people. You and I have been there and seen what it has done. I promise you, that you have inspired me to make the change before it happens. I can’t thank you enough. I salute you…again.
Sincerely,
Airman 1st Class Zac Wojcik

Thanks for coming to Pope and thank you for your support of the military. It’s refreshing to see someone from Hollywood, truely supporting the military. You Killed Them!
Bernie
Great show today, I was at the 1400hrs show and thoroughly enjoyed your performance and message. Thank you for trying to make a difference for our Airmen!!

I really enjoyed your show. It was so funny. I recently loss someone in my life due to an alcohol related accident and it probably could have been prevented if someone had taken time out to talk with him. But what’s done is done and I use that as motivation. It encourages me to live my best life now by doing the right thing. Your story was very motivational and inspiring. Keep doing what you’re doing.
I thought that your version of a safety briefing was so much better than just listening to the same breifing we have all heard a thousand times before. Your stand up routine was hilarious. I appreciate all of your support.
Sincerely,
A1C Muno
Good shit, so much better than listening to SARC talk for an hour.
Great show, definitely better then our normal force fed safety-type briefings. I was at both the 1400 and 1600 show times.
Dear Bernie,
I just wanted to thank you again for coming to Pope AFB! If only all the acts that came through were as good! As I mentioned after the show, your predecessors have been, how can I put this nicely, A DRAG! The message is always great, and I truly believe that everyone needs to hear experiences of others to learn from, or even relate with them, but the methods are what have failed in the past. I (and probably most of the other airmen) went in thinking that there were other things I could be doing that would be more productive, but you definitely changed that! We should be appreciating you, because it takes a person of great character and heart to do what YOU do, and I can tell that you have touched many lives with your wonderful approach. Thanks again, and God Bless you and your family!

Hey Bernie,
Great meeting you today!!! Great show! Never know what to expect ahead of time but this was truely a treat! Keep up the great work and keeping people safe and laughing!
Bernie,
We appreciate you coming out to entertain and warn us of the dangers of alcohol abuse. I can honestly say that this was the best standup/briefing I have ever been ordered to attend.

you were the best mandatory comedian i’ve ever seen in my 10 yr career. two words…thank you. i was touched by your story. so many of us have come too close to making career ending mistakes or worse. i hope you saved at least one life today. That would make it all worth it. see you again. look forward to hearing from you.
Stevo
Bernie, thank you for bringing the message home to our Airmen! We lose great people every year because either they or someone else chose to be irresponsible in how they handled alcohol. We put the message out all the time and you never know if it makes a difference. Your presentation was received exceptionally well by everyone and I am very confident you will save a life or a career here at Pope. Thank you and God bless!

I really appreciate that you have the courage to speak about the mistakes you’ve made and grown from. Some people find it tough to talk about the things you talked about, but by talking about your mistakes you help others to make better decisions.
My brother has been going through most of the things you talked about. I hope to help turn him around. I’ve been trying for years but nothing has worked. He’s had 2 DUIs now and I hope that has helped to wake him up.

Bernie:
Your 1600 show was an absolutely hilarious delivery of a VERY important message. Thanks for engaging Pope’s Airmen in such an entertaining way…
I would say without a doubt the funniest comedy tour to come to Pope. 0800 was eraly and at first people were apprehensive, but you reeled them in. The story of your drinking problem was great to hear so people can reflect on it. I hope people can take something from it and really look at their behaviors and hopefully change things. We all appreciate your comedy and all appreciate you coming here and taking time to try and defend us from ourselves.
Thank you

I thought the show was very funny. Your jokes hit home, especially the one about layering the toilet paper around the seat and the deodrant!!!!!!! Your show also brought me back to reality once you started to talk about your life and your brother. I have two brothers and a sister and I am the oldest. So if anything was to happen to anyone of them I would not know what to do. So again great show and keep up the smiling faces!!!!!
Thanx for coming to pope! Your show had to be one of the only mandatory briefings that didnt put me to sleep. I think comedy is a great way to spread the message of the dangers of alcohol . thanx again for what you do.
Thank you for visiting Pope. The 18-25 is a tough crowd, and didn’t expect to hear great feedback for a mandated brief. I’ve been here over 6 years and that was the most entertaining and inspirational performace the base has had.
Bernie,
Your show was the greatest thing to have hit Pope. I’ve been stationed here with my family for a year, and out of all of the mandatory things to go to for drinking and driving and drugs, yours was absolutely my favorite. I was actually kinda sad when it was over. I was at the 1600 show, and at first I was upset that I was having to attend another show about drinking and driving and drugs. I’ll be 21 in August, but I’ve seen what alcohol does to a person and their family first hand, so alcohol will never be an issue for me. Your show was hilarious and I went home and told my husband about it. It is very refreshing to see that a star appreciates the military. Thanks for coming to “No- Hope Pope” and sharing your talents and your experiences with us. It was wonderful, and I hope to see you perform again soon.

hey bernie,
i was at the 1400 hrs show an the 24th and i think everyone that was there will agree when i say that it WAS the BEST mandatory briefing i had ever went to. when i heard “mandatroy” i thought “great another boring briefing that im going to have to force myself to stay awake through”. but when it started, it was the complete opposite. thank you. your story really touched me and i know alot of the other people that were there. i actually started tearing up.. not only because it was a sad story but because it hit home. my squadron lost a really great airman and friend last year due to an alcohol related accident. he was a great leader at work and a great friend after work… we took a great loss. but im hoping, like others have said before, that you saved at least 1 life with your show, and again, thank you and i salute you.
Bernie,
I really enjoyed your show this morning. You had me rolling the entire time I was there. I have to say that it was well worth getting up on my day off and coming to see your show. But, on the real side, im hoping you got through to a lot of people. That is a serious, serious issue and im glad there is someone out there that can get the point across like you did today. Thank you very much for the great show!

Hye Bernie,
I saw your show on 25 Mar 08 at Pope AFB. Eventhough i do not drink; but i can assure you that you did an OUTSTANDING job by entertaining and providing a very useful message to the Pope AFB personnel. I have never seen such a great performance with a very important message, hope someone will think about your speech before they take a wrong decision.
Thannks for coming out to Pope AFB.
I really loved your show!!! Take care and God Bless.
Out of all the shows I have seen that was by far the funniest and most informative stage act that has come through Pope AFB. As a current person dealing with some those issues, I can truly sit back and relate. My fiance and I just broke off a 2 year engagement and not once I have I reached out for the assistance of alcohol. It feels good event though I have so much hurt. Thanks Bernie keep on keepin on.

i saw your show on 24Mar at the 2pm showing. it was amazing. thank you so much for everything youve done to help and support the military. Your story reminded me of my husband, and how i dont want him to end up like you. He doesnt see it yet. but one day he will. I hope soon. Thank you so much i loved your show!! hope you come back soon!
HI Bernie,
Thanks for bringing your show to Pope AFB. We have motivational speakers all year long about the same old thing and what they’ve been through. But your show was completely different. i am a huge stand up comedy fan so when i arrived at the theatre and found out what is was and when they said your name and i knew who you were i was excited. i figured since you said your giving a book i would reply to this but even if i don’t get picked i’m buying it. Thanks for your comedy and for the story you told us about your life. I have two younger brothers and that’s the one thing that worries me is that they’ll grow up like i did and get into drinking at a very young age. i’ll tell your story though when it gets to that time. Thanks again bernie and try to come back next year.
Hey Bernie,
Well to my surprise this was one of the best comedy events i have enjoyed yet. Not only was it inspiring but it kept my attention and to tell you the truth wish that it didnt end when it did. Your story was very inspiring and in a way i could related to how alcohol effected my life growing up as well only i was on the other side with a step mom that was a drunk. Until i left for the military there wasnt a day that went by i didnt resent her for it. Im glad that others can get a first hand look at it through your comedy and hopefully stop it before it hurts them or even the people around them. But thanks again for coming and hopefully one day you’ll be back!!

Bernie,
Great show! I went to the first show @ 1400! I also think that your Bosnia story was one of the most touching stories ever. I went out and bought the book…amazing. It really goes to show that laughter is the best medicine. Hope to see you around someday
