Thanks for comming to MSV. The show was awsome and very inspiring. If you are in the area again – you should come check out a game. Here is the link to our 2008 Baseball Schedule.

I think your show was great. I’ve seen multiple speakers on alcohol consumption and I think you are the best!

    Bernie,

You were absolutely histerical. You made me cry because i was laughing so hard, but in the end i was crying because your words were so moving. Thank You so much for coming!

    Bernie,

I’d just like to say that your show was “fantabulous!” I thought you were absolutely hysterical and you sent across a great message. As a resident assistant here at the college of mount saint vincent, I often find myself concerned with the drinking and/or drug habits of our residents. I was actually just thinking that we need to find better ways to get across the severity of substance abuse and it’s effects on their lives and the lives of the people surrounding them. Little did I know that in just a few hours I’d find the resolution to our problem. Your work is amazing and I’m glad that you started “Happy Hour Comedy.” As I left the auditorium, I wondered whether your work touched others as it did me. Walking into the lobby and seeing the baseball team waiting to take a picture with you was a clear enough answer. Please continue doing what you’re doing and thank you so much for coming back home and taking your time out for us.

Finally a real talk about drinking without any fear monger lecturing at me for being imperfect. You’ve been there, you tell it how it is, and somehow you still kept me entertained. Thanks for visiting. I liked you, but I’m not super poking you.

Great show tonight. I really learned alot from you. The jokes were funny and we all related to them. Hope to see you soon!

  12. 12 Michelle

I went because someone said comedian. I almost left because some mentioned “inspirational message”. I am glad I stayed. Your show was different and it was not the old, “dont drink or you will end up like this”. That approach must definitely isn’t the most effective. But thanks for coming and sharing your insight.

i just got back from your show & i must say it was amazing! It was really inspirational. Personally, I don’t drink and it really put in perspective the dangers of drinking. You made me laugh a lot and it was a really great way to end the night! =] It was so emotional and touching. Awesome Job! Thank you for a GREAT night!!!!

Coming into Hayes aditurium today, I thought that I was going to be bored with a mandatory meeting about alcohol awareness. I was wrong. Tonight, Bernie’s show made me laugh and almost cry when he talked about his loving family. His visions on drinking and obstacles he has face along with alcohol, have made a huge impact on me as a student athlete. It impacted me because I use to think “I can drink and be fine for my next game”, or “I only had one drink; I can still drive.” After listening to Bernie I’ve come to realize that both of my ideas are wrong. Also that your judgement is impaired when you’ve been drinking. Because of Bernie’s speech it has taught me that drinking isn’t jsut bad but it can really mess up your life. It could of messed up his life too but, he was a strong person who had a family behind him to make it all this way. He is also is a cool guy off stage. He offered to take a picture with the basketball team, dispite there was only four out of twelve guys. We took two pictures with him. After that he shook our hands and said “Have a great season.” Bernie is a great person and I respect his movement of teaching kids about alcohol through laughter and experience. Bernie, I would just like to say one more time thank you, and your a awesome person.

my roommate dragged me to this thing, but i’m really glad that i stayed…funny and inspirational! thanks for coming!!

    Yo Bern,
Show was great man. Really relate to the toilet segment. I feel your pain with that toilet paper. I do it the same way, gotta cover each side carefully, cant leave anything exposed. I go about 3 layers each side, can never be to careful, you know what i mean. The girl above me, if its the Jaclyn I am thinking of, shes lying to you, i see her out all the time. Anyways, before i start to ramble, ill let you go.
    Much Love,
    Albert

    Bernie,

Your message touched me to the core. You were AMAZING i think that it is important that people realize how the decisions they make when they are drunk can affect the rest of their lives. I am glad you said what you said at the end..i know you are not a VICTIM you are an overcomer a VICTOR..i know that your brother is proud of you and shining down on you. I also lost my cousin that way and you are right WE WILL SEE THEM AGAIN…i am pretty sure you touched more than one life today..and you DEFINITELY changed mine.

Thank you for coming to the mount.
Keep doing what you do you are great.

    Bernie,

Thanks so much for coming to CMSV tonight! You were by far the best speaker that I have heard at The Mount. I think you really touched a lot of people tonight and hopefully they will take your excellent advice. Hope to see you again sometime !

  23. 23 Katrina Ricalde

You are really funny and I enjoyed your show. You are very inspirational not only to me but hopefully to others too. I was really amazed how you pull yourself back together after your addiction. That was really impressive! Thank you for coming!

By the way its Hayes Auditorium not Haynes! Hahaha! Have a safe flight! Wish you all the best

  24. 24 Kevin G.

As you can see Bernie, you were a big time hit at the Mount. Probably the best speaker/performing to take the stage since Fabulous…great bit, sincere but real message, and only a New Yorker would do what you do and love it so much for a living. Best of luck and come back ASAP!

    Kev

  25. 25 Jennifer

    Bernie!

Great job last night! Your comedy show and inspirational message were amazing! I personally thought that I was coming into a boring alcohol lecture, but your entire show was BY FAR the best! You were hysterical and your message really touched me. It definitely made me think about my life and has a great impact on me. You’re awesome and keep doing what you’re doing! Great job!

The show the other night was great Bernie…really inspirational. Thanks for reaching out to us.

  29. 29 Joe Blackford

Bernie, really enjoyed your comedy/inspirational speech. It was a lot better than having a boring lecture about alcohol abuse. Good luck to you in the future. Thank You.

    Bernie,
You are the man on a mission!!!
What you did out there on that stage Tuesday night was phenomenal. You struck a chord in me and made me actually reflect on how I have been going about life. I really don’t want to see myself in the near future blaming alcohol for failure and problems in my life. You life story was very touching and I’m sorry that you had to experience all of that. But, without it you wouldn’t be here given us these foods for thought. I thank you, sincerely!
    You are honestly, the man!!!
Hope to see you again and take care
Oh year tell your brother I said hi
*I would have been adorable to see the two of you together :-) *

Awesome show, even though it was mandatory i think i would have been disappointed if i had missed it. Thanks for stopping by.

The show was great. It had the combination of comedy to laugh at along with a powerful message tied into the end. I enjoyed laughing, but the part that caught my attention the most was your story. Too often people try to deliver a talk on the consequences of drinking that just is unheard by the audience. However, your story was different because you have been through so much and you could relate to the struggles of college students. Thank you for the amazing show and good luck in the future.
