THIS is the Airmen’s CREED- the bible of commitment for Airmen everywhere! I had one of the highlights of my career today, getting to not only meet and greet the Chiefs, Majors, & Captains who have flown missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, but to perform two shows as well in the theatre on DAVIS MONTHAN AIR BASE in AZ! I felt so small, meeting these men and women of honor, commitment, respect, and manners. We should all adopt the ”Yes Sir, No Sir’ approach instilled in all military personel when addressing each other. I felt so humbled in the presence of our true heroes in this world. The two shows were outstanding!

I have to tip my hat to Mr Smith, Chuck, & Kim of Pima Prevention for bringing the show. I also have to thank the Corc committe of Major Delong and Henry for helping out with the show and escorting me into private areas of the base for a tour. Chief Parkhill- You are the MAN! Below I will share pics from the flight line…which was amazing up close, and forbidden to most civilians. I met Captains Burke and Cruz- two studs who have flown missions into the current war zones! Here, the are introducing me to the new A10C fighter jet, along with it;s machine gun muscle, the largest volume of ammo of all jets!

Thank you for coming out to DM. The way you convey your message is really unique, and truly powerful.
Bernie, you were totally awesome. I am retired from the Air Force after 28 years. I work here on base and I was really blessed to be able to see your 0900 show. You came through to the young troops and old timers like me.
Thanks for coming to DMAFB, we truly appreciate your visit.
Great lines, you killed!!

Bernie,
Your show this morning was fabulous! I would come back this afternoon, but I work night shift and I need some kind of sleep! lol. You did an amazing job blending from comedy to a very serious, heartfelt message. I was laughing and crying all at once. Very well done, sir! You have a wonderful way with words and I appreciate you taking the time to share your stories with us. We all need a good laugh every once in a while, as well as a good solid morale building event. I often find myself in a state of serious thought with the job that I do, but cracking a smile really changes my entire mood for the better.
Thank you very, very much!!!
Sincerely,
AMN Biehl

This is my second message to you so i hope you get at least one. just wanted to say, Awesome show! Thank you for the great entertainment and for thinking of us here at Davis-Monthan. You really sent a good message and kept us all interested, im impressed. I hope to see one of your shows again one day!
I was at your show at 9 a.m. today. I’ve been in the Air force for over 3 years now, about to separate, and have never seen such a great performance. I’ve sat through plenty of briefings listened to all of the higher ranking individuals telling everyone in the audience what “they already know” and “makes them fall asleep” but I’m sure that your stand up this morning gave everyone in the audience something to think about. I know it did me. Thanks for coming to the base and taking your time to entertain us all. We all appreciate it. Good luck at your next show.
-Senior Airman Sonnier
Bernie, I loved your show! Usually, when we get comedians or entertainers that come to our base, they’re so cautious about what they say that it makes their show boring and unentertaining. But you were so funny and you related to us really well. It was so comical and inspirational at the same time. I teared up towards the end. I’m so glad you came. Thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule. Take Care and God Bless!
Thanks for the show, you really got my day off to a good start. Awesome integration of comedy and the message you were trying to get across. I think that if more people tried to pass on lessons this way the chances of them being heard would be much greater. Thanks again.
Robby
Bernie you were awesome! Not only did you have me tearin up with laughter, you delivered a great message, that hit home with more than one person in the audience. more people should know about you!
Thank you for coming to speak at DM today. It was all very inspirational and motivating. The jokes were ok too…..I guess. ;o) Take care and God Bless.
Thank you so much for your show, it was really enjoyable!!
Bernie,
lol. Anyway man, keep up the good work and thanks for your support.
Man, i gotta tell you i really needed that! I really appreciate you coming down here and blessing us with some laughs. Also, I would like to compliment you in your style of presentation. Most people like to give the whole dont drink a drive and yet they’re the first ones you see at the bar. I mean, if drinking and driving is illegal, then why do bars have parking lots?!
-Mike
Thanks for the awesome show! And bless you for supporting our troops!
Hey man, that was an awesome show. I watch my friends every weekend get so drunk and sometimes I feel left but then I remember I have a heart disease and can’t drink and that my step mother was an alcoholic. So your story really got to me, and I am sorry to hear about your bro, but at least you bounced back and are doing great now. My email is jagoldstein23@yahoo.com. And again that was a great show.
Hey, Bernie, I was one of the airmen that made it to the 1PM show over at the DM Base Theater. I gotta say, that was a good show you put on; funny and powerful at the same time. I don’t know of anyone else who could pull that off. Take care and keep on performing.
Great show this morning. I wish more people could convey their message in the manner in which you did. I wish you all the best and stay strong!

Awesome show this mornin I couldn’t stop laughing and me and my friends were laughin about it all day long. Glad I got to see it.
Hey Bernie~~Your show really touched a lot of people in the auditorium this afternoon and I want to thankyou for sharing your personal experiences with us airman. I believe laughter is one the most powerful ways to get through to people and when you convey it with a message, people really listen. Thank you.
I also would like to ask you a few questions and get some advice. My brother was recently killed in Iraq, in the Al Anbar Povince on 23 May. His 22nd bithday was 20 May. I was very close to him, I mean really close to where all my friends were his and all his friends were mine. Anyway, I just wanted to know how you were able to get through your brother’s loss because it seems to me that the pain will never end. All I want to do is go home as much as possible to be with my mom but i obviuosly cant. Thank you again for your show!!!!
Thanks Bernie for an amazing message! It was hilarious and not the typical boring “don’t do” lecture. Some of your points made me think of people and times in my life when there were problems with addiction. I have seen alcohol abuse first hand in my family, and have thankfully seen them resolved as well. I am sure that your message has touched many and hopefully changed some lives. The military is big on drinking and I think that today you made a difference in some airman who may have a problem. Seeing someone admit that they had a problem is what it may take for someone to realize that they have a problem as well. Thanks again for a hilarious show. Keep it up.
Tom
Very inspirational story, and hilarious to boot. Props man! Come back and see us, sounds like we all enjoyed your safety brief better than the AF regulation.
Bernie,
Thanks again for visiting the Desert Lightning Team! Davis-Monthan is buzzing with talk of your show and message, you are always welcome here!!
Thanks again for serving those who serve!!
Respectfully
Chief
Thanks for the laughs. You have no idea how much I needed them! You did a great job spreading the message. A-10’s hua!!
Thanks for the show. It was a couple days ago, but the message is still in my mind. That hit home with me, and I’m sure a bunch of others who were in the audience. Keep it up, it’s good!
Thank you very much for the show, I enjoyed it all. It is a very interesting way to deliver the message but it will stick with me for a long time. Please come back again we all enjoyed it and I am positive it will be enjoyed for years. KEEP IT UP!!!
Bernie

Thanks for doing a show here, Bernie! Funniest thing I’ve heard in months. I laughed so hard. I’m gonna start looking for comedy shows in Tucson–I need to get out of my room more, anyway. Awesome job!
Bernie,
It’s been really busy for me since you left, so sorry for the late blog. It’s been almost a month now and I still hear Airmen around Base quoting your lines like they would a movie. I can’t thank you enough for your time and support for our folks and others that serve. I wish you the best and hope you got to spend some quality time with Sean. We need more people like you out there.
Henry
Good morning!
Hoping for some helpful information here. My father, Lt. Col Ward Graham (Ret/Dec.) was a U-2 pilot in the 60’s and early 70’s when I was a youngster. So, many fond memories of childhood from experiences on D-M base housing. We left in 1972 upon dad’s retirement and I’ve not been back since.
I’ll get to my point… I’m visiting Tucson the week of September 20-27th with my wife and her parents. We would love to be able to tour the base housing area. (My sister had the privelege of visiting there 4-5 years ago.)
I checked in with the 355th and didn’t get much help. Can any of you D-M locals guide me towards some favorable results for possibilities of an escorted tour?
Sincerely,
Dan Graham
