Hi Bernie,
Okay, so I don’t know if this is where you wanted us to comment, but I figured why not be the first! I have a story I want to tell you that I would not like to attach with my name. Sooo…I’m not going to write it here! But if you would be interested in hearing it, I’d love to tell you via email.
Anyway, you did a great job and you were really engaging. You didn’t preach at us, and you didn’t tell us what to do. I really admire you for what you are doing, and I hope you can touch more people across the country.
Have a great rest of your stay in VA!
hey dude- i just had to leave you a message of congratulations. i’m known for using every trick in the book for getting out of seeing speakers; from being ’sick’ to ‘having class’, i’ve seriously used used them all. and i’ll admit that the only reason i came tonight was because they had us sign in. but i have to hand it to you, you had me and the other cheerleaders laughing til we cried. the fact that you’ve actually been to college and all and have really seen what goes down kept your message from being preachy, and i dug it. so props, man, for showing us east coasters how the west coasters keep it straight
oh, ps, if you ever decide to pick up baseball again, i’m sure i could get the girls on the road to come cheer for you, haha, peace!
Hey Bernie,
Thanks for making it out to southern Virginia to speak, I think you really reached out to the crowd, I know I got something out of it. And thanks for opening up and sharing yourself with us.
Also, it was sweet that you didn’t lecture at us, my friend and I were like “when is the boring lecture part going to come on?” but it was definitely a good message. When you get back home send Sean some love from CNU!!
Thanks for coming out last night. I really think your act and point touched a bunch of us last night, including me. i play baseball here at cnu and i definitely felt your point there. I have been having too much fun lately if ya know what i mean and thanks to you i am going to settle it down. Thank you again.
Bernie Mc!!
You were amazing last night…(ha, that could be taken wrong). I absolutely loved your act and you’re unscripted mic-stand relationship! You’re story was amazing and definitely inspiring to many people. Those who weren’t inspired…good luck to them. I will tell you that even if I don’t get the signed book from you, I will definitely buy one because I abosolutely love comedy and I’d love to hear everyone’s stories. Good luck to you and all your life adventures!
When i signed the sign in sheet i started to walk back to my room so i could watch the Mets game, but my coach caught me and made me stay and watch. And let me tell, i am glad he did because you are one of the funniest people i’ve ever actually listend to in person. great speech and thanks for comin’ out! Im an older brother and playin baseball here at cnu, i dont know how you dealt with that stuff, everything you said stood out to me. Definitely goin to take it all into consideration whenever i got out.

Hey thanks for coming it was awesome. It really was fun to be at! It was a great way to get a message across. You really did get the point across. Thanks Brendan
Thanks again for coming out to CNU! As you can see, we had quite the wonderful response. You’re the best performer I’ve worked with so far! Tell Sean CNU says hi, and good luck to the Cardinals!
I would have commented immediately in your blog–but you hadn’t written an entry about CNU last night when I first visited your website. So, here’s an official blog reply post so I can win the book about comedians! Otherwise I would have to wait and hope for it as a Christmas present: Bookstores off-campus don’t accept flex points.
I thought your show was great and I think the message reached a lot of the students here. Its the second time I saw you perform (I saw you at mid atlantic NACA 2005 in Lancaster) and I was just as moved this time as the first. Hopefully our paths will cross again,
Good luck in all your endeavors,
I just want to agree with Taylor. As a cheerleader and a member of NUMEROUS clubs and organizations on campus, I’ve had my share of speakers. But you, buddy, were too funny and too real! Not only was your story awesome, but you’re jokes hit home too!! I won’t go into detail, we need a little integrity here but you were awesome!! Thanks for posting our pic, heck yes!!!! You should get down to Myrtle and support us at Nationals!!! Thanks again, hopefully I’ll run into you sometime again!!
Hey Bernie!,
I loved your stand-up comedy! I was amazed how you shared your story in such a comic way. I understand a lot of your story from personal experience. I know a lot of people who are just as stubborn as you were. Sadly, one of them didn’t make it. AHS class of ‘06 lost a friend two weeks before we were supposed to graduate and three days before his 18th birthday. He left a party, after drinking, to pick up someone because he thought he was fine. He crashed and was ejected from his car. This hit all of us really hard. The reality is, it takes a person in every class to pass away for kids to realize that they are NOT invincible. He was going to come to CNU and play lacrosse. Even though we have all lost a friend, he helped us realize that life is fragil and to cherish every day as if it were your last. I wanted to thank you for coming here to share your story. I’m sure people got a lot out of it! I hope they realize it’s not just you you can hurt by drinking and driving!
Thank you so much,
Brittney Harris
Your show was amazing and your message was a strong one. I thought about it for days afterwards! I thank you for stepping up and having the drive to make an impact. Good luck to you and hopefully our paths will cross again!
